MIAMI (AP) — Another game, more late-inning drama for the Miami Marlins.
This time, just not enough.
Marcell Ozuna and Jarrod Saltalamacchia both hit solo home runs in the ninth and Miami had the tying run on later in the inning, but the Marlins ended their homestand with a 5-4 loss to the Texas Rangers on Wednesday afternoon.
A game that started about 13 hours after the Marlins had another last at-bat win in their improbable try at a playoff spot started with Miami getting into a hole quickly, trailing 5-0 after the second and never getting back on top.
“We don’t make it easy,” Marlins manager Mike Redmond said.
