PHOENIX (CBS Seattle/AP) — Marshawn Lynch was a hit during Media Day by repeatedly saying “I’m here so I don’t get fined,” but the NFL still might take a chunk of change out of his wallet for a hat he was wearing.
ESPN reports that the Seattle Seahawks running back could “face a significant fine” if the league rules he promoted a brand on his hat during Media Day that was not approved. The NFL is currently reviewing whether the hat Lynch wore was permissible. The hat featured his own BeastMode logo.
BeastMode is “the official brand of Marshawn Lynch.” The specific hat, which sells for $33, is sold out on the company’s website.
“We are rushing to restock as quickly as we can,” the website reads. “Yes, that is the hat Marshawn wore during the 2015 SB Media day.”
