If Hassan Whiteside had been the general manager of the Lakers, he would have signed Hassan Whiteside.
But Los Angeles was one of the teams that turned him down as he tried to get back into the NBA, and it was on the wrong end of his wrath Wednesday. Whiteside grabbed a career-high 25 rebounds, the second-highest total in Heat history, and added 18 points and four blocked shots to help Miami win 100-94.
As if they did not already realize their error in not signing him, Whiteside made absolutely sure they knew it.
