Canucks beat Arizona, to play Calgary in first round of playoffs

An old playoff rivalry will be renewed next week.

The Vancouver Canucks will play the Calgary Flames in the first round of the NHL playoffs, as both teams won their games Thursday to bring some clarity to the regular season standings in the Pacific Division.

The Canucks defeated the Arizona Coyotes 5-0 in their second-to-last game of the regular season. Yannick Weber scored two goals, while Eddie Lack made 28 saves for his second shutout of the year.

Daniel Sedin, Ronalds Kenins and Dan Hamhuis also added goals for Vancouver, who moved to 47-29-5 on the season.

Meanwhile, the Calgary Flames defeated the Los Angeles Kings 3-1, clinching a playoff spot and also eliminating the Los Angeles from playoff contention.
