CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – LeBron James will not begin his pre-playoff rest Friday night against the Boston Celtics.
James said at the Cavaliers’ shootaround Friday morning that he will play.
“I was never sitting out tonight,” James said. “I never had that in my mind.”
The Cavaliers clinched the Central division and second seed in the Eastern Conference Wednesday night in Milwaukee. Although their playoff fate is set, Cleveland can play a major role in who they will face in the opening round.
Boston enters Friday night’s game tied with Brooklyn for the seventh seed at 36-42.
Guard Iman Shumpert is questionabnle for the game with a right quad contusion. Shumpert sustained the injury Wednesday night in Milwaukee according to the team.
