Tiger Woods off to promising start in Round 2 at Masters

With a lot of work to do to get back in contention, Tiger Woods got off to a promising start Friday.

Woods, whose 1-over 73 in the first round left him tied for 31st, 10 shots back of leader Jordan Spieth, started his second round with a birdie and a par on his first two holes. Spieth, meanwhile, birdied two of his first five holes to get to 10-under and extend his lead to five shots.

Woods hit his opening drive 285 yards down the middle, leaving him 183 yards to an uphill green. He then put his approach 7 feet behind the hole and sank the putt…
