BOSTON (CBS) — Boston 2024 is enlisting some star power in its efforts to host the 2024 Summer Olympics.
The group organizing the city’s bid for the games announced Wednesday that several Boston sports legends will be on the newly created Board of Directors, including Boston Red Sox fan favorite David Ortiz and Celtics greats Larry Bird and JoJo White.
Other notable athletes joining the 30-member board include 2014 Boston Marathon winner Meb Keflezighi, Paralympian Cheri Blauwet and Olympic medal-winning figure skater Michelle Kwan.
