NFL draft analyst: Duke Johnson, Denzel Perryman will thrive in 2015

BuckyBrooks has been high on Hurricanes before.

He’s the NFL Network analyst who gushed over Stephen Morris before the 2013 season, saying he might be “the most talented quarterback” in a draft class that included JohnnyManziel and TeddyBridgewater. Of course, Morris looked good before he got hurt that September, but … still.

His praise of Denzel Perryman and Duke Johnson is a little more measured, but Brooks still loves him some Canes.

In an article for ranking the top NFL draft prospects by tiers, Brooks placed Perryman, Johnson, Ereck Flowers and Phillip Dorsett into his “red chips” category. Those are players, he writes, who should contribute part-time as rookies before finishing the season as starters, as well as being key contributors on special teams and “provide timely playmaking in their designated roles.”
