American Pharoah wins the 141st Kentucky Derby

American Pharoah won the 141st Kentucky Derby.

American Pharoah began in a field of 18 horses at the Churchill Downs in Louisville on Saturday, May 2, 2015.

In second place was  Firing Line, and in third Dortmund.

American Pharoah, was the front runner going into the race. Hall of Fame conditioner Bob Baffert trained the horse.  Baffert won the Kentucky Derby twice in a row in 1997 and 1998, according to the event’s website.

American Pharoah’s jockey, Victor Espinoza, won his second Kentucky Derby victory the year before with California Chrome.
