WATCH ABOVE: A survivor of domestic violence was given the surprise of a lifetime Monday night.
TORONTO – A story that could have ended terribly horrific, when a Tampa woman was stabbed 32 times, has instead been given an incredibly sweet moment in the spotlight.
Melissa Dohme was stabbed 32 times by a former boyfriend in 2012. There was apparently so much blood that “you couldn’t tell she was blonde,” one of the first responders said at the time. Her story was so dramatic it was even featured in an episode of CBS’ 48 Hours that is available to watch online.
Three years later, Dohme is an advocate for Hands Across The Bay to help victims of domestic violence and is in a relationship with Cameron Hill, one of the very EMT’s that saved her.
