Ex-Notre Dame QB Everett Golson transferring to Florida State

Former Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson will finish his eligibility at Florida State.

Golson, who led the Irish to the 2012 BCS national championship game, received his diploma on Sunday and is eligible to play immediately as a graduate transfer. The news was first reported by Bruce Feldman of FoxSports.com.

Golson met with Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher a week ago before also visiting Florida and Georgia. He now joins a program that has won 27 of 28 games the last two seasons but is looking to replacing quarterback Jameis Winston, the 2013 Heisman Trophy winner who was the No. 1 pick in the 2015 NFL draft.
