NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Might two more international soccer stars be coming to MLS?
According to British newspaper The Telegraph and later reported by NBCSports’ Pro Soccer Talk, New York City FC may be in the mix to land legendary Chelsea striker Didier Drogba.
In addition, reports overseas have said that long-time Italian national team star Andrea Pirlo is mulling a possible move to MLS.
Drogba, 37, played his final game for Chelsea on Saturday, a 3-1 win over Sunderland in which he was carried off the field by his teammates. He later told the club’s website, “In order to play more football I feel I need to go to another club. I want to play for at least one more season.”
