(1090 The Fan) — There was another move in the effort to get an NHL (and subsequent NBA) team to Seattle — but are we reading too much into it?
The Seattle Times’ Geoff Baker reported Tuesday morning that the Tukwila arena group, headed by investment banker Ray Bartoszek, will submit a formal expansion application to the National Hockey League.
Is there some sort of statement to be made by this move?
“Well I wouldn’t read too much into it, but it is a positive sign,” Baker told Steve and Jason during The Steve Sandmeyer Show on 1090 The Fan. “It’s not like they’re saying ‘well we’re going to wait to see what happens in the next six weeks.’ They sound like they’re confident enough that they’re going to have enough to show the NHL — that they’re saying they’re already ahead of the game.
