KANSAS CITY, Mo.- The American League will not be comprised of all Royals this year, but fans will be seeing plenty of blue in Cincinnati.
Four Royals will start the American League roster: outfielders Lorenzo Cain and Alex Gordon, shortstop Alcides Escobar, and catcher Salvador Perez.
Early in the All-Star Game voting there was widespread outcry over possible ballot fraud from Kansas City fans with an early AL ballot count showing all Royals in the starting lineup.
This year the MLB threw out up to 65 million votes noting fraud.
Through it all, four Royals will be in Cincinnati to start the All-Star game next week.
It’s the highest number of Royals in an All-Star game than in the past 25 years combined.
