Revis Takes Shot At Mark Sanchez, Says Jets ‘Didn’t Have A Quarterback’

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Jets fans will want to pick up a copy of this week’s edition of Sports Illustrated, which hits newsstands on Wednesday.

In an effort to commemorate the 50th anniversary of its issue featuring Joe Namath, SI is recreating its iconic “Football Goes Show Biz” cover from July 1965, this time showcasing Darrelle Revis, easily the team’s most recognizable player.

On the cover, Revis — arguably the best cornerback in the NFL — strikes a Namath-like pose to the left of an inserted headline which reads “One Man Is An Island.”

In the cover story, the six-time Pro Bowler admitted that he considered retiring three years ago, and revealed how happy he is to be back with the Jets.
